Pre-Surgical Joint Orientation Class

Before surgery, joint replacement patients attend a free and comprehensive pre-surgery orientation led by your Community Memorial health care team.

Provider giving an educational workshop

The perspective and advice shared at this orientation includes:

  • What to wear after surgery,
  • How to prepare your home for the recovery process,
  • Sample exercises,
  • How to care for your new joint
  • What equipment or supplies you might need.

Patients who attend Joint Orientation class prior to having surgery typically have a better experience and recovery after their procedure.

Testimonials

I slipped and fell on the ice and broke my arm. I reached out to Community Memorial and I went in for Surgery. They made me feel so comfortable, so well informed, and Dr. Takemoto was superb. I felt very good about the outcome of the surgery. And I feel that everybody should have the kind of care Community Memorial is offering. I’ve been to other facilities but I find that Community Memorial was the best experience I’ve had.

Cindy, West Winfield, NY

I’m a dairy farmer and I had such knee pain, it just got to the point where I couldn’t work...Everybody here is excellent, the best. My quality of life is back and it’s just a relief. It basically saved the farm.

Dennis, Waterville, NY

The big thing in my life is getting with my buddies and playing golf so having a knee replacement was very important for me and, gratefully, I’ve had it taken care of at Community Memorial Hospital with Dr. Takemoto. There’s no place that I would rather go for orthopedic care. Dr. Takemoto did a great job and the warmness of the place is just a bonus. And I’m so grateful to Community Memorial because I’m on the course almost every day of the week and this is what I love to do.
